    In addition, Edward J. Briscoe has achieved the designation of “Recognized Practitioner” for Products Liability and Mass Torts in the Nationwide USA location of the guide.

    Briscoe focuses his practice on product liability and toxic tort litigation. He has extensive experience dealing with lawsuits involving a wide variety of chemicals and hazardous materials, as well as the diseases commonly associated with exposure to these materials.  He frequently represents Fortune 500 companies and underwriters in the defense of personal and class action suits alleging exposure to asbestos, silica, benzene, beryllium, mold and other toxins.  In addition, Briscoe handles complex matters involving environmental, transportation, maritime and premises liability.

  • Fowler White Burnett is pleased to announce that Managing Shareholders Edward J. Briscoe, Christopher E. Knight and Richard A.     Briscoe focuses his practice on product liability and toxic tort litigation.     Knight devotes a significant portion of his practice to the defense of medical malpractice and health care-related claims.  He also represents domestic and international airline carriers, aircraft and engine manufacturers and maintenance providers in litigation arising from mass disasters and aircraft accidents.  In the products arena, he handles products liability and related litigation for notable manufacturers, distributors and retailers.     Coxhead is a shareholder in the Aviation practice group at Fowler White Burnett.  With a laser focus on issues important to the aviation industry, Coxhead has represented manufacturers of aircraft, airframes and component parts in cases arising from crashes throughout the world involving general aviation and commercial aircraft. He has achieved particular success in obtaining dismissals on forum non conveniens grounds and in winning summary judgment under the General Aviation Revitalization Act.

    In addition to the firm’s Aviation practice group, Coxhead is also a member of Fowler White Burnett’s Commercial Litigation, Maritime, and Products Liability & Toxic Torts practice groups where he has broad experience as a litigator practicing in the defense of manufacturers in product liability and complex commercial matters. He has successfully handled numerous mass casualty, wrongful death, electrocution and amputation injury cases – receiving several industry awards recognizing the results he achieved for clients.

    Stephen has also handled both litigation and transactional matters for numerous maritime interests including domestic and international insurers, cargo carriers, cruise lines, commercial and pleasure vessel owners, operators and charterers, marina and terminal owners and operators.

  • Christopher E. Knight was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates and its Miami chapter in July 2009. ABOTA is a national organization that encourages improvement in the ethical and technical standards in the legal profession. Membership is by invitation-only and is subject to vote by the national chapter. Candidates must possess a high personal character, an honorable reputation and extensive experience as a trial attorney.
