Fowler White Burnett Shareholders Listed Among Florida Trend’s 2016 Legal Elite

Fowler White Burnett is pleased to announce that shareholders, Gil O. Acevedo (Miami), Susan H. Aprill (Ft. Lauderdale) and Avery A. Dial (Ft. Lauderdale) have been recognized by Florida Trend in their 2016 Legal Elite special report.

Florida Trend’s Legal Elite presents a prestigious roster of 1,144 attorneys from across the state of Florida. The resulting list represents fewer than two percent of the active Florida Bar members who practice in Florida.

Gil O. Acevedo is a shareholder in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group.  Acevedo’s practice involves representation of clients in connection with commercial and residential real estate transactions, relating to the purchase and sale of office buildings, shopping centers, apartment buildings, gas stations, vacant land, condominium units, townhomes, and single-family homes, in addition to short-sale transactions.  Acevedo also assist clients through the complex process of commercial real estate finance, including acquisition lending, refinance and mortgage modifications.

Susan H. Aprill is a shareholder in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group.  Aprill's practice encompasses the full range of commercial litigation matters with particular emphasis on business disputes and employment matters, including claims against employers and by independent contractors under the ADA, the FMLA, the FLSA and Title VII and related state statutes. Aprill is called upon by clients to craft arguments and develop strategies that benefit both legal and business interests.

Avery A. Dial is a shareholder in the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Insurance and Real Estate Practice Groups.  Dial defends and prosecutes business matters including breach of contract, civil theft, conversion, breach of warranties, statutory violations, fraudulent business practices, professional malpractice, and entertainment matters. He also litigates insurance coverage matters where the underlying claims are business litigation, professional liability, or intellectual property matters.  In addition, Dial litigates commercial and residential real estate matters including title claims, foreclosures, landlord tenant disputes, and breaches of contract on behalf of title insurers, banks, tenants, and property owners.
