Lindsey C. Brock III is a Shareholder based in the firm’s Jacksonville, Florida office. With a Master of Laws degree in Admiralty from Tulane University, Lindsey is a highly respected attorney whose practice focuses on Admiralty and Maritime Law, Transportation and Logistics, Commercial Litigation, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Public Policy. Known for his comprehensive approach and unwavering dedication to clients, he is trusted by individuals, businesses, and institutions alike.
Lindsey brings decades of experience in resolving complex maritime, commercial, and insurance disputes across multiple jurisdictions. He represents clients locally in Florida, as well as nationally and internationally, including engagements across the United States, the Caribbean, and Europe through connections in London. His practice encompasses transactional matters, litigation in state and federal courts, and domestic and international arbitration. Lindsey is recognized in the maritime industry for handling high-stakes maritime casualty cases which involve fires, allisions, collisions, sinking, and recovery operations. His extensive experience includes cases spanning from South Carolina to South America, where he has investigated causes, identified liable parties, and addressed related environmental concerns.
A respected voice in the Jacksonville community, Lindsey has served in leadership roles, including as Chair of the Jacksonville Charter Revision Commission and as a member of the Jacksonville Waterways Commission. Lindsey has also held positions with the Maritime Transportation System National Advisory Committee, advising on national maritime policy. His contributions to maritime law extend to his teaching roles, including as an Adjunct Professor at Florida Coastal School of Law, where he helped establish the pioneering LL.M. in Transportation & Logistics program.
Throughout his career, Lindsey has represented both individual and corporate clients in state and federal courts, as well as in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and early neutral evaluation. He has handled cases involving large-scale marine casualties, defended marina operators and marine product manufacturers, and assisted clients in complex transactions and insurance matters. Notably, he has represented passengers and cruise lines, including tender vessels in the U.S. and Caribbean, and advised clients in various areas, from zoning and private property disputes to insurance coverage and bad faith claims.
