Donna Waters Romero is a Shareholder in the firm’s Insurance Practice Group. She is a seasoned trial attorney with nearly four decades of experience representing insurers and insureds in complex civil litigation matters.
Donna’s practice focuses on insurance defense, including first-party property claims, premises liability, products liability, construction defect litigation, trucking defense, and commercial litigation. She has extensive experience managing cases from inception through trial, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, hearings, and courtroom advocacy. Throughout her career, she has obtained numerous summary judgments and defense verdicts in high-exposure matters.
In addition to her litigation practice, Donna has held leadership roles at several defense firms, where she supervised and mentored associate attorneys and oversaw litigation teams. She is known for her strategic judgment, practical approach to case management, and deep understanding of insurance and liability issues.
Donna earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Economics, cum laude, from Boston College. She is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Active in the legal community, Donna currently serves as a Presidential Appointee to the University of Miami Law Alumni Association Board of Directors and is a member of several professional and civic organizations.
