We are pleased to announce that Tax, and Trust and Estates Practice Group Shareholder Alyssa R. Wan served as a Panelist at The ILS Global Forum on International Law - iLaw2023 on Friday, February 17, 2023 held at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami, Florida.
Discussing Trusts & Estates in an International World, the Panel addressed an array of topics related to international and cross-border estate planning, including tax-related trusts and estates issues, the Corporate Transparency Act, best practices for minimizing tax implications for foreign investors and current trends in international philanthropy.
Alyssa is a member of the Florida Bar's Tax Law Section and serves as Co-Vice Chair to The Real Property, Probate & Trust Law (RPPTL) Section of the Florida Bar’s Charitable Planning and Exempt Organizations Committee. She handles a variety of domestic and international matters for high-net-worth individuals and families, such as structuring and preparing sophisticated estate plans and trust agreements, structuring investment in and transfer of U.S. real property by non-residents, pre-immigration planning and estate planning involving multinational families and investments. She also assists clients who have recently relocated to Florida in establishing their homestead and estate plans under Florida law. Alyssa works closely with clients to form private foundations and public charities to accomplish their long-term charitable and family planning objectives.
