Fowler White, a leading full-service law firm with more than 80 years of history, is pleased to announce that Stephanie T. Merchant has joined the firm as an Associate in the Insurance and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. She brings with her a strong background in insurance defense and civil litigation.
Merchant focuses her practice on complex insurance matters, including first-party property claims and third-party liability disputes. She has represented clients in mediations, depositions, hearings, and trials, and is experienced in litigation strategy, discovery, expert coordination, and pre-trial preparation. Her work also includes advising insurers on coverage issues and defending claims involving breach of contract, construction defects, and real estate-related matters.

Prior to joining Fowler White, Merchant practiced at several respected litigation firms throughout Florida, handling both state and federal cases. In addition to her insurance and commercial litigation experience, she has managed matters involving wills, trusts, probate, and contractual disputes.

Merchant earned her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law, and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida. She is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
