Alyssa R. Wan Presents at Inaugural Foundations & Endowments Columbia 2023 Conference

Shareholder Alyssa R. Wan was invited to present at the inaugural, invitation only, Foundations & Endowments Colombia 2023 Conference, “Succeeding in Philanthropic Management” held in Medellín, Colombia. This conference marked the first Philanthropy Management gathering held in Latin America.

Hosted in Medellín, Colombia, this exclusive event offered members of the philanthropic landscape in Colombia the opportunity to increase their knowledge, connect with other institutions, and acquire tools to maximize their impact. Their esteemed panel of experts provided insightful conversations spanning the best philanthropic practices regarding spending and fundraising, cross-border tax efficiencies, research on local and international economics, and the Morgan Stanley commitment to the region.

This invitation only conference was attended by approximately 75 attendees representing the top foundations throughout Colombia. Alyssa’s presentation “Establishing a U.S. Foundation for Colombian Not-For-Profit Institutions” provided insights on the process of filing as a 501(c)(3) organization in the United States, the legal requirements and structure of foundations, as well as their benefits for international institutions.
