Fowler White is proud to announce that Ana E. Tovar has been appointed a Director of the Venezuelan American National Bar Association (VENAMBAR).
VENAMBAR, established in 2013, is a non-profit voluntary bar association aimed at aligning and attending the needs of legal professionals in the United States and with an interest in Venezuelan issues. Creating a bridge between Venezuelan, U.S. lawyers and the Venezuelan business community in the United States, VENAMBAR serves as a platform for networking experiences and dialog among lawyers, bar associations, law students, members of the United States judiciary and academia. They also actively supports the local community through pro bono legal assistance and civic outreach.
Ana, an attorney in the Commercial Litigation practice group focuses her practice on general and complex commercial litigation and international and domestic arbitration. She has a background in corporate and commercial litigation matters, commercial and investment arbitration, and cross-border commercial transactions. She received her Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law where she graduated magna cum laude as Salutatorian. While there she served as a Senior Staff Member of the FIU Law Review. She graduated with her LL.M. from Columbia University Law School where she was a member of the International Arbitration Association and the Latin American Business and Law Association. In Venezuela, Ana received her law degree from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello where she graduated summa cum laude and was a member of the Commercial Arbitration Moot of the Chamber of Commerce and of the Harvard World Model United Nations where she won the Diplomacy Award.
