Fowler White is pleased to announce that Managing Shareholder Stephen F. Coxhead was a featured speaker at the International Association of Defense Counsel “IADC” 2024 Midyear Meeting held on February 18-23, 2024 at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry in Miami, Florida.
Presenting “Celebrity Trials: Trial Techniques and Tactics,” Stephen was part of a panel of experienced trial lawyers that discussed how the widespread availability of video of key moments in celebrity trials offers the unique opportunity to trial attorneys everywhere to learn. Some key takeaways from the presentation were perspectives on witness preparation and performance at trial, the importance of expert presentation skills and performance as a witness and considerations associated with representation of a public figure, particularly where there are unflattering facts that may come to light.
Stephen, a member of the Firm’s Management Committee and a Shareholder in Products Liability and Aviation Practice Groups brings his broad experience as a litigator practicing in the defense of manufacturers in products liability and complex commercial matters. Stephen represents manufacturers of aircraft, airframes and component parts in cases arising from crashes throughout the world involving general aviation and commercial aircraft. His experience in products liability matters also includes the representation of heavy equipment manufacturers in litigation involving aerial lift devices, cranes and woodchippers. His knowledge of how such equipment is built and operated - combined with his understanding of available legal defenses - has translated into favorable outcomes for his clients at summary judgment and trial. He also is experienced in litigating contractual disputes and administrative matters on behalf of corporations and clients arising from high exposure commercial disputes. He approaches each matter with an inclusive and results oriented focus and is known for "outside the box" thinking that leads to efficient and effective resolution of complex matters.
