Fowler White Burnett shareholder, Robert F. Bouchard, has been selected for membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
Reserved for experienced trial lawyers and judges, membership in the group is for those dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the 7th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. ABOTA works to uphold the jury system by educating the American public about the history and value of the right to a trial by jury. The general purpose of ABOTA is to foster improvement in the ethical and technical standards of practice in the field of advocacy so that individual litigants receive more effective representation and the general public is benefited by more efficient administration of justice consistent with time-tested and traditional principles of litigation.
As an experienced litigator, Bouchard has successfully represented a diverse group of clients, including some of the nation’s leading healthcare institutions and practitioners, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and insurers. His experience, insight into a wide range of industries, and understanding of his clients’ objectives enables him to provide effective pre- and post-litigation strategies.
Bouchard also is a certified circuit court mediator. He is qualified to conduct arbitrations pursuant to the various Florida arbitration statutes. His alternative dispute resolution practice encompasses most areas of civil litigation and benefits clients who are seeking less adversarial and more cost-effective methods for resolving disputes.
Bouchard is a member of the American Bar Association; The Florida Bar; Florida Defense Lawyers Association; Florida Medical Malpractice Claims Counsel; and the Broward County Bar Association. He is a past president of the Dade County Bar Association and a member of the Defense Research Institute.
