Fowler White Burnett met the “Dare to Dodge” challenge in a dodgeball tournament fundraiser to benefit the United Way of Miami-Dade that featured Miami’s top law firms on March 20 at the Downtown Athletic Club. Now in its second year, the tournament included teams from eight law firms that faced off in a single elimination round.Fowler White Burnett placed third in its first year of tournament participation, after Akerman LLP and Bilzin Sumberg. Participants included more than 200 staff, attorneys and partners from Fowler White Burnett, Akerman LLP, Berger Singerman, Bilzin Sumberg, Carlton Fields Jorden Burt, Greenberg Traurig, Holland & Knight and Kluger Kaplan.
Fowler White Burnett’s participation in Dare to Dodge is part of the firm’s FWB Connects Community Service Initiative. Committed to the principle of giving back to the South Florida Community, which Fowler White Burnett is grateful to have served for over 70 years, the firm created the initiative to provide a venue for Fowler White Burnett attorneys, staff and their families to join together in a variety of efforts to support the important work of many worthy organizations in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
Dare to Dare to Dodge is an example of how United Way serves as a bridge, linking all sectors of the community, and bringing diverse partners and competitors to the same table.
