Fowler White Burnett, P.A., congratulates three of their attorneys who were recently made shareholders - Kristina A. Delgado, Elizabeth J. Ferry, and Stephen R. Gross. The Firm has also named three new equity shareholders – James D. DeChurch, Michael A. Garcia, and June G. Hoffman.
Kristina A. Delgado focuses her practice on medical malpractice and aviation litigation. She defends doctors, hospitals and other health care providers against claims involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death and negligence. In the aviation arena, she represents domestic and international airline carriers, aircraft and engine manufacturers and maintenance providers in litigation arising from aircraft accidents. Ms. Delgado has been with the firm since 2005 and works out of the Miami office.
Elizabeth J. Ferry focuses her practice on product liability and toxic tort defense. She represents manufacturers, distributors, insurers and retailers in the defense of claims that arise from alleged exposure to hazardous materials, including asbestos, benzene, and silica, as well as the diseases commonly associated with exposure to them. Ms. Ferry has been with Fowler White Burnett since 2008 and works out of the Miami office.
Stephen R. Gross is a member of the Insurance Group. Mr. Gross represents major insurance carriers and focuses his insurance defense practice on the defense of first- and third-party insurance claims involving construction-related matters, such as contract disputes and construction defect. He has worked with Fowler White Burnett since 2009 and is located at their Fort Lauderdale office.
James D. DeChurch focuses his practice on claims involving catastrophic injury. He represents companies and major insurance carriers against a wide variety of claims, including professional liability, personal injury, wrongful death and products liability. A significant portion of his practice involves the defense of hospitals, doctors and other health care providers in medical malpractice claims. Mr. DeChurch is a skilled trial attorney with over ten years of experience. He has been with the firm since 2000 and works out of the Miami office.
Michael A. Garcia has more than fifteen years of civil litigation experience. His practice includes the defense of a wide variety of claims, with an emphasis on premises liability and personal injury matters. Mr. Garcia represents leading businesses across diverse industries and he serves as local counsel to numerous nationwide retailers. In the maritime industry, he handles personal injury and wrongful death suites filed by passengers, crew and offshore workers of commercial and private vessels. Mr. Garcia has been with Fowler White Burnett since 1999 and works out of the Miami office.
June G. Hoffman is the chair of the firm's Appellate group and focuses exclusively on appellate matters, litigation support and trial counseling. She is Board Certified in Appellate Practice by the Florida Bar. Ms. Hoffman has served as lead appellate counsel in hundreds of civil appellate proceedings and has been the primary author of numerous briefs, including petitions for extraordinary writs, merits briefs and amicus briefs. Her appellate practice includes the representation of clients in high-profile matters and high-stakes litigation. Ms. Hoffman has worked with Fowler White Burnett since 1999 and is located at the firm's Fort Lauderdale office.
