Fowler White Burnett Shareholder Alice Sum Elected to Asian Pacific Bar Association of South Florida

Fowler White Burnett today announced that Alice K. Sum has been elected at-large director of the Asian Pacific Bar Association of South Florida (APABA). The appointment is for the 2010-2011 term.

Sum, who focuses her practice on commercial litigation matters, represents corporations and individuals in complex cases before state and federal courts, and in alternate dispute resolution forums. She assists clients with a wide range of business disputes, including claims stemming from fraudulent practices, franchise and license agreements, corporate governance, partnership and joint venture agreements, mergers and acquisitions and breach of fiduciary duty.

The APABA was formed in 2003 over concerns about the lack of any organization in South Florida dedicated to the legal interests of the Asian Pacific American community. Since its beginnings, APABA has grown steadily every year and now boasts an increasing membership of highly talented lawyers, jurists, and affiliated law students. Members range from solo practitioners, attorneys at large, multi-national law firms, government attorneys, law professors, and corporate in-house counsel.
