Fowler White Burnett is pleased to announce that Shareholder John H. Friedhoff has been re-elected to serve as Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Zamorano University in Honduras for 2016-17. This marks his 4th consecutive term as Secretary of the Board of Trustees since first being elected in 2013. In addition, Friedhoff serves on the University’s Nominating Committee, heads the Legal Committee and has served as a Trustee of the University since 2010.
Friedhoff, a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in International Law, served on the Board of Directors and as Vice President of the Central-American Chamber of Commerce and is a Past President of the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce where he served as a Director for over fifteen years. He has also served on the Board of Directors of a state-licensed bank with an international focus. Friedhoff focuses his international practice on corporate, banking and intellectual property matters.
Zamorano University offers four undergraduate degrees in Agricultural Engineering: Agronomy; Agribusiness Management; Food Agroindustry; and Environment and Development. Friedhoff notes the school is in reality a paradigm of Pan Americanism with students enrolling from the Caribbean, Central American and South America and that its actual name (Escuela Agricola Panamericana) is true to its name.
The four-year educational program emphasizes academic excellence and character formation, and it complements theory with practical field experience through its Learning by Doing program, in which the students work half a day in the production and processing plants or conserving the natural resources that are part of the university campus.
