Howard Fox Joins Fowler White Burnett

Fowler White Burnett, P.A. announced today that Mr. Howard E. Fox has joined the firm’s Miami office as an Associate in the Product Liability & Toxic Torts Practice Group, where he will primarily focus on asbestos litigation.

Mr. Fox comes to the firm from Lydecker Diaz, where he litigated high exposure environmental and construction cases.  Formerly, Mr. Fox served as a Senior Attorney and the lead Clean Air Act enforcement attorney in the Civil Enforcement Section of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).  While at the FDEP, Mr. Fox successfully litigated dozens of asbestos cases throughout the state, often against partners at state-wide and national law firms.  After graduating law school, but before working at the FDEP, Mr. Fox worked for the U.S. Senate, Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. During law school, Mr. Fox clerked in the U.S. Department of Justice, Environmental Enforcement Section, where he wrote the first draft of a complaint the U.S. filed against BP Products North America, Inc. The case settled for the largest single-facility Clean Air Act settlement in history.  Mr. Fox also interned in the Public Health Division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of General Counsel, as well as the legal department of Henry Schein, Inc., a Fortune 300 health care company.

Mr. Fox received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware and his Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law, where he was the Articles and Notes editor of the Business Review and a member of the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law.
