Fowler White Burnett Shareholder, Perry F. Sofferman, was recently named Chairman of the Subcommittee on Tax Law and the Subcommittee on Liquor Licenses for the Education Committee of the Business Brokers of Florida/South Florida.
The Business Brokers of Florida is a non-profit association made up of the leading business brokerage companies and agents throughout the state of Florida. It is the largest state business broker association in the country, and the second largest association of business brokers in the world.
Sofferman, whose practice focuses on Corporate, Intellectual Property and International Law, represents clients in business transactions including corporate structuring and acquisitions, trademark, copyright, licensing, social media, software, publishing, Internet, privacy, HIPAA, technology and export compliance.
Having previously served as General Counsel for a technology manufacturer and Counsel for Scholastic Inc., the Fortune 1000 global media and publishing company, Sofferman has negotiated the agreements for several of the most successful properties in publishing history. As a practitioner with extensive in-house experience, he brings a unique perspective to the needs of his clients and focuses on practical solutions, risk avoidance and strategic planning.
Sofferman received his Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Tax Law from The University of Alabama Law School, his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Zicklin School of Business of Baruch College of the City University of New York, Juris Doctor (JD) from New York Law School, Masters of Arts (MA) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) from New York University.
