Richard P. Morris Appointed To Florida Bar Aviation Law Committee

Fowler White Burnett is pleased to announce that Of Counsel, Richard P. Morrishas been appointed by Florida Bar President-Elect Mike Tanner to serve on The Florida Bar Aviation Law Committee through his upcoming year as President of The Florida Bar, 2021-2022.

The scope and function of the Aviation Law Committee is to study recent developments of law, legislation, and regulations in the field of aviation law, and keep the members of the Bar informed of significant developments in this field. The committee maintains liaison with agencies or local, state, and federal governments concerned with aerospace law; studies and considers matters of legislation, regulations, or problems of aerospace law as developed by the committee or assigned to it by the president or the Board of Governors; and assists in developing continuing legal education courses for persons practicing in aviation law.

Morris is Florida Bar Board Certified in Aviation Law and is a member of the firm's Aviation Practice Group. He focuses his practice on the defense of casualty and commercial litigation claims involving aviation, maritime, premises liability, products liability, medical malpractice, and general liability. Morris has represented airlines, cargo carriers, airports, aircraft part manufacturers, fixed base operators, and ground handlers in major air disasters, general aviation accidents, aircraft accidents, passenger accidents on airport premises, ramp accidents, hull losses, turbulence and other inflight injury cases.

Morris received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State University.
