Fowler White Shareholder, Allan R. Kelly, will speak at the Third Annual Florida Maritime Law and Practice Update and Review Seminar on March 29, 2019 at St. Thomas University. Nearly 100 maritime professionals are expected to attend, including some of the most skilled U.S. maritime law practitioners.
Mr. Kelley will present on Panel II: Limitation Act Theory & Practice which will discuss Limitation of Liability. The seminar is hosted by the Florida Bar Admiralty Law Committee (“ALC”), ABA-TIPS Admiralty & Maritime Law Committee (“ABA”), and the St. Thomas University Maritime Law Society. The seminar includes presentations on recent cases, trending issues relating to admiralty jurisdiction, limitation of liability proceedings, and the trial of an admiralty case. There will also be an ALC meeting open to non-committee members and a mock trial presentation by STU.
Kelley, a shareholder in the firm's Maritime practice group, regularly represents all areas of the marine industry, including major cargo carriers, cruise lines, commercial vessel owners, operators and charterers, pleasure vessel owners, marina operators, terminal operators, related marine interests and their insurers and the insurance industry, protection and indemnity, hull and machinery, legal liability, cargo and inland marine policies.
The Florida Bar has approved this seminar for 6.5 general credits, as well as 6.5 advanced level admiralty and maritime law certification credits.
