14 Fowler White Attorneys Listed Among 2018 Florida Super Lawyers And 2018 Florida Rising Stars

Fowler White Burnett announced today that Super Lawyers has named 11 of its attorneys 2018 “Florida Super Lawyers” and an additional 3 of its attorneys have been selected as 2018 “Florida Rising Stars.”

Super Lawyers honors attorneys who have obtained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement within their practice area. The Rising Stars list is comprised of attorneys who are 40 years old or younger and have been in practice for 10 years or less. 

Only up to five percent of lawyers in the state of Florida can be recognized as Super Lawyers, while less than three percent are named Rising Stars. Both Super Lawyers and Rising Stars are selected based on a patented selection process, which includes nominations by clients or firm, extensive research on the candidates and peer reviews.

3 Attorneys Elected As Shareholders At Fowler White During 75th Anniversary Year

Fowler White Burnett is pleased to announce that Ira J. Gonzalez, William A. Potucek, and Christie M. Walker have been elected Shareholders in the Miami office. 


Ira J. Gonzalez is a Shareholder in the firm's Products Liability & Toxic Torts Practice Group and focuses primarily in local government law and in civil and commercial litigation in the areas of Product Liability, Real Estate/Construction, and Medical Malpractice. Prior to practicing law, Ira served in a number of roles in Miami government, including assistant policy coordinator for the Mayor and chief of operations for code enforcement. Ira received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, and an Environmental Law Certificate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. He also earned an MBA and his Bachelor of Science from Barry University in Miami Shores.

William A. Potucek is a Shareholder in the firm's Insurance Practice Group and regularly practices in State and Federal Courts. His practice includes the defense of a wide variety of claims, with a particular emphasis on commercial premises liability and personal injury matters. He also handles general liability, professional negligence and wrongful death claims. William received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi Honor Society, Maritime Law Society, Business Law Society and International Law Society. He received his MBA degree from Stetson University School of Business, and his Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from Florida Southern College.

Christie M. Walker is a Shareholder in the firm's Maritime Practice Group, where she focuses her practice on all aspects of Admiralty Law. She received her Masters of Law degree in Admiralty from Tulane University Law School, her Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, and a Bachelor in Business Administration degree from the University of Miami. Christie also holds a Certificate in Financial Regulatory Law & Policy from Washington College of Law Summer Institute and a Certificate in Admiralty & International Law of the Seas from Tulane University Law School, Study Abroad Program.
