Fowler White Burnett is pleased to announce that Laura Ross has joined the firm’s Miami office as an Associate in the Corporate Practice Group. Ross focuses her practice in the areas of international law, corporate transactions, corporate law, and business immigration. She represents foreign investors establishing companies in the United States, and assists foreign individuals and businesses with all aspects of setting up their U.S. operations.
Laura works with multinational corporations, foreign clients and entrepreneurs relocating, investing, and conducting business operations in the United States across a diverse array of industries, including manufacturers, distributors and international financial institutions. In addition to her international corporate law experience, Ross has represented yacht manufacturers, yacht owners, and yacht charterers in a variety of international maritime compliance issues. She has represented buyers and owners of private yachts in ownership, documentation, registration, vessel crew agreements and yacht management agreements. Furthermore, she provides guidance to yacht manufacturers and owners through U.S. Customs and Border Protection issues, such as entry procedures, documentation, duty and crew visas.
Ross received her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the North Carolina Journal of International Law & Commercial Regulation. She received her Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University, cum laude. She is a member of The Florida Bar International Law Section and the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida. Ross is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
