3 Fowler White Managing Shareholders Selected For SFBJ’s 2017 Power Leaders In Law

Fowler White Burnett is pleased to announce that Managing Shareholders Edward J. Briscoe, Christopher E. Knight and Richard A. Wood were selected 2017 Power Leaders In Law by the South Florida Business Journal. This marks the fifth straight year of recognition for Knight and Wood and the fourth straight year for Briscoe. The SFBJ’s Power Leaders in Law highlights executives that are known for their innovative ideas and savvy business acumen within their region’s prosperous and evolving business landscape.

Briscoe focuses his practice on product liability and toxic tort litigation. He has extensive experience dealing with lawsuits involving a wide variety of chemicals and hazardous materials, as well as the diseases commonly associated with exposure to these materials.  He frequently represents Fortune 500 companies and underwriters in the defense of personal and class action suits alleging exposure to asbestos, silica, benzene, beryllium, mold and other toxins. In addition, Briscoe handles complex matters involving environmental, transportation, maritime and premises liability.

Coxhead is a shareholder in the Aviation practice group at Fowler White Burnett.  With a laser focus on issues important to the aviation industry, Coxhead has represented manufacturers of aircraft, airframes and component parts in cases arising from crashes throughout the world involving general aviation and commercial aircraft. He has achieved particular success in obtaining dismissals on forum non conveniens grounds and in winning summary judgment under the General Aviation Revitalization Act.

In addition to the firm’s Aviation practice group, Coxhead is also a member of Fowler White Burnett’s Commercial Litigation, Maritime, and Products Liability & Toxic Torts practice groups where he has broad experience as a litigator practicing in the defense of manufacturers in product liability and complex commercial matters.
